I just finished watching SICKO by Michael Moore and wanted advice on what to do for health care while living in Ecuador for 7 months a year.

Where would be the better places to call home if we were looking for low humidity, temps 55-80 good infrastructure (medical, shopping and english speaking friends, low crime, and some where we can learn Spanish)

There are free hospitals in Ecuador where you can go for a medical check up. But you can also go to a private hospital or clinic because they are quite cheap. For example a medical check up will only be around $10 or $20Regarding the second post, you may want to stay in Quito which is a modern city with all the services and with excellent weather all year round (very low humidity) or you could try Vilcabamba city with one of the best weather in the world and almost cero crime rate. What is the movie "SICKO" all about? What does it have to do with the health care in Ecuador? That got me a bit confused.

Why would you watch a movie about health care made by a fat unhealthy slob? the question isn't how to get your government to give you free "health care" (ie: medical services), but how you can make yourself healthy so medical services are mostly irrelevant in your life.

Wow!! a lot of emotions rolling around this page. Maybe we need to just breath a little bit.
