'Which Urbanizacion do you recommend' Guayaquil

Hi!

My wife and I are due to move to Guayaquil in Ecuador within June this year for professional reasons. The duration of our stay will be approximately 2 to 3 years.

We have never been to Ecuador before, but going through the web found out that it is recommended to find an accommodation in so called ‘Urbanizacion’ with security services and so on.

Could someone please comment on this and also make some recommendation on such “Urbanizacion”.

It actually would be nice to have a kind of “top 5” that could also be useful to other ex-pats or travellers.

I tried to find some kind of list for you, but all I could find were Spanish sites and I can't read Spanish very well at all..

Art, that was not so much of a bad idea. You could try posting the links and maybe this guy from Switzerland understands it..he could find it useful. If I am not wrong, 'urbanizacion' is Spanish.

Alternatively you could use google translate and it will give the details in English.

Daniel, if you are sure of what duration you will stay there, you can start with the area in question and move out if not convinced.
